Insects

The girls learned all about insects. We learned about butterflies, ladybugs, bees and ants.

The girls had the opportunity to watch the magic of metamorphosis occur in the classroom. The girls recorded the butterfly life cycle in their science journals as they watched the class caterpillars get fat, turn into a chrysalis and then finally become a beautiful butterfly.
As the butterflies flew around the net, the girls named the parts of the butterfly such as the wings, antennae, the three body parts and the proboscis.

Graduate Luncheon

The Kindergarteners took pictures with their 8th grade big sisters. They absolutely loved their dresses!

Mother's Day Tea Party

The girls invited their moms for a tea party. They sang a special song for their moms and wrote what they loved about them. Then they crowned their moms queen for the day and served them iced tea and snacks.

All About Plants

The girls learned about the parts of a plant and how a plant grows. They painted their flower pots and planted their own seeds. They watered their plants and made sure it was in the sunlight. As they waited for their plants to grow, they observed and recorded the plant by drawing what it looked like each week. After two weeks, they were excited to see their plants starting to sprout.

March 2019

Fun in the sun!

They were excited to see all of their friends after the break.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Kindergarten learned all about the author Dr. Seuss and read many of his stories. They also developed wacky rhymes.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Kindergarten learned all about Saint Patrick, Ireland, rainbows and leprechauns. After reading a variety of nonfiction and fiction books, the girls created their own leprechaun traps in hopes of catching Lucky the Leprechaun. They worked in groups to develop their own traps and used their imagination and knowledge of leprechauns to determine what colors and items they would use to lure Lucky the Leprechaun into their trap.

The girls collected all their materials and constructed their traps. Then the girls and painted and decorated their traps. They were all very excited to try and capture Lucky the Leprechaun.

Our finished traps!

The girls all did a great job building their leprechaun traps and working in groups.

When the girls returned from lunch they found a huge mess in the classroom and no Lucky the Leprechaun. They searched the classroom for Lucky in case he was hiding. All they found were footprints.

"Look! Lucky's footprints!"

"I found gold!"

LUCKY CHARMS MATH!

The girls had a blast sorting, counting and graphing the marshmallows in the Lucky Charm cereal.
